MTN Data Zone Bundle, the magical offer that had many Ghanaians grinning from ear to ear, has been suspended by MTN. But hold on to your seats, because this decision has caused quite some stir among Ghanaians, particularly MTN customers who have been kept in the dark about the future of the MTN Data Zone Bundle for a few days now.

The telecommunications titan apologized to its beloved customers for keeping communications on the matter limited to service activation channels only. But, what’s the reason for the sudden suspension of this highly innovative offer?

Well, according to a statement released on Wednesday, April 12th, it’s because of a review of the bundle offer in line with the Significant Market Power (SMP) directives applied to MTN Ghana in June 2020, where the company is not permitted to have the lowest-priced offer in the industry.

“We are currently engaging and collaborating with the Regulator, as we seek alignment on a revised DataZone bundle to be reinstated as soon as possible. We will notify you in due course of further developments,” the statement said.

The Data Zone Bundle is a groundbreaking offer by MTN Ghana that provides customers with a 1-day validity bundle at discounted rates at the point of purchase. The subscription is through Short Code 135. The statement went on to assure customers that MTN Ghana will continue to release innovative and affordable products and services to meet their needs.
